The preview is mandatory and the batch is atomic: nothing is written until it is confirmed, and if any row fails the whole batch is rejected. Unknown vocabulary terms, unrecognised countries and malformed years are flagged here — never silently coerced. Not specified and Unknown normalize to NULL on import and render as «No data available» everywhere.

Controlled vocabularies are what make 755 dispersed histories comparable. Terms are added editorially, never by import: a value that is not in the list stops the batch.
